Buenos Aires, September 19 – Central Puerto (“Central Puerto”) (NYSE: CEPU), the largest private electricity generation company in Argentina, by energy produced, announces the commercial authorization of the Vientos La Genoveva II Wind Farm with a capacity installed 42 MW (net power), as of 0:00 a.m. on September 14, 2019.
The project was developed by Vientos La Genoveva II S.A.U., a subsidiary of Central Puerto S.A., and will sell energy directly to private sector customers, under long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) under the regulatory framework of the Market to Renewable Energy Term (“MATER”), being the second wind farm to generate energy under said regulation.
The La Genoveva II wind farm is the fifth renewable energy plant of Central Puerto and its subsidiaries, with a total of 206 MW. The company currently has 180 MW under construction, which is expected to begin operating during 2019 and 2020. With the incorporation of the La Genoveva II wind farm, the consolidated installed capacity of the Port Center increases by 1%, thus totaling 4,139 MW.
