2024 Sustainability Report – Central Costanera

Central Costanera presented the second edition of its Sustainability Report, a document that reflects the company’s progress and results during 2024 regarding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, and reaffirms its commitment to responsible, efficient, and future-oriented management.

The report consolidates the integration of sustainability into the power plant’s operational and strategic decisions, and highlights Central Costanera’s role as a key player in the reliability of the Argentine electric system.

Main Milestones in Environmental Performance

During 2024, Central Costanera consolidated its resource management, strengthened environmental monitoring, and modernized its management tools, focusing on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Among the main results, the delivery of 12.34 tons of recyclable materials to the Cooperativa Reciclando Trabajo y Dignidad stands out, as well as a technical availability of 53% in steam turbines, reflecting a sustained improvement in the efficiency and maintenance of thermal units, with an increase of 3 percentage points compared to 2023.

For the first time, the report incorporates the thermal energy intensity indicator, allowing for a more comprehensive analysis of operational efficiency and fuel consumption. The higher thermal generation during the period responded to greater equipment availability and an increase in combined cycle dispatch, a result of the preventive and predictive maintenance model implemented.

Main Milestones in Social Performance

In 2024, 369 people were part of the Central Costanera team, driving management focused on human development, safety, and equal opportunities. The report shows that 13.63% of new hires were women, and that 981 training hours were recorded, doubling the hours compared to 2023.

Regarding health and safety, 250.5 hours of Health and Safety training were delivered, the preventive culture was reinforced, and the operation of the Formal Health and Safety Committees—the main spaces for worker participation and consultation—was consolidated.
Likewise, the report expands information on occupational risks, prevention measures, and family leave policies, reflecting a more transparent management oriented towards the comprehensive care of people.

Main Milestones in Economic Performance and Corporate Governance

During 2024, Central Costanera reached a total thermal generation of 4,707 GWh, sustaining operational reliability and greater dispatch of combined cycles. On the economic front, it recorded an EBITDA of ARS 53,276 million, reversing the previous year’s result and consolidating a year with positive profitability.

The company worked with 372 supplier companies, 95% of which are domestic, driving the development of the local value chain. In this edition of the report, transparency regarding corporate governance was strengthened by incorporating detailed information on the role and responsibilities of the Board of Directors, the update of the Corporate Governance Code, and supervision by the Corporate Secretary.

Regarding the supply chain, the supplier evaluation process was expanded, incorporating risk and opportunity criteria that strengthen objectivity, quality, and transparency in purchasing decisions.
