It has four Francis turbines and their associated generators with an installed power of 1,440 MW (4×360 MW).
The CPSA hydroelectric complex includes a gravity concrete dam with a maximum height of 170 meters above its foundation, intake structures and aqueducts, a spillway with a capacity to discharge 10,000 m³/s, river diversion works, a bottom outlet, and construction facilities including access roads, a bridge, and power supply installations.
Hydroelectric Plant
The plant, equipped with a dual-fuel Siemens SGT5-4000 F gas turbine with a nominal total power of 292 MW, will benefit from the combined cycle upgrade, adding an additional 140 MW. This will result in a total capacity of 432 MW, enabling it to supply power to over 300,000 households nationwide, injecting power into the interconnected system through a 132 kV connection.

We support the growth of mining in Argentina through strategic investments that strengthen our vision of sustainable development:
• En Catamarca, adquirimos el 35% del proyecto de litio “Tres Cruces”, consolidando nuestro rol en la cadena de valor de la movilidad eléctrica.
• Together with IFC, we worked to develop the first 140 km electric transmission line to supply renewable energy to mining companies in the northwest of Argentina, with a potential capacity of up to 400 MW.
In April 2026 the Company acquired 100% of the share capital of Patagonia Energy S.A. (“PESA”), which holds a hydrocarbon concession over the block known as Aguada del Chivato / Aguada Bocarey, located in the Neuquén Basin, for US$ 50 MM.
August 2026 update: The Company has already submitted a technical draft for the CENCH process while continuing to make progress in consolidating the team.
