With an offer of US$ 245 million, the company secured its continuity at the helm of the Comahue region’s largest capacity hydroelectric complex.

The Piedra del Águila Hydroelectric Plant, located in the province of Neuquén, boasts an installed capacity of 1,440 MW and is a fundamental piece of the national energy matrix, as well as a strategic asset for renewable energy generation in the Comahue region. Central Puerto, which has operated the complex since its first adjudication in 1994, submitted the best economic proposal among the participants and will be the only company to maintain operations of this asset under the new concession.

The investment also includes an infrastructure plan worth US$ 160 million to guarantee technical upgrades and optimal maintenance of the complex throughout the concession term.

This result fills us with pride and confirms our leadership in the power generation industry, as well as our role as a strategic and reliable supplier for the industry and consumers alike. Furthermore, it allows us to project the long-term operation of a key power plant for the country and challenges us to continue investing in efficiency, modernization, safety, and environmental standards. It is a decision that reinforces our commitment to continue investing in Argentina’s energy development,” stated Fernando Bonnet, General Manager of Central Puerto.

With this renewal, Central Puerto consolidates its track record and will continue to operate the plant for another 30 years, solidifying its position as the country’s largest electric energy generator with a 17% market share in the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI).

#EnergíaConFuturo

["post-6047","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
